Child Care Licensing
The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment's Child Care Licensing division works with all child care providers in Johnson County. According to Kansas Child Care Licensing Law, anyone providing care for children other than those related by blood, marriage, or adoption, must be licensed with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Click on the links below for more information about child care licensing, classes and resources for child care providers and parents.
***For persons registering for classes that have Yahoo email accounts: JCDHE's system of registering for classes(GoSignMeUp) records your information and registers you for the class, but Yahoo blocks email communication about class confirmation back to the registrant. Currently this problem does not occur with any other email service. If you have questions, want to confirm your class registration or change to a different email service to please email teri.harold@jocogov.org.

Don’t worry, we haven’t gone far. Our Child Care Licensing Division has moved across the parking lot to the Sunset Drive Office Building. You can now find us at 11811 S. Sunset Drive, Suite 2700, Olathe, KS 66061. Our phone numbers and fax (913-477-8035) remain the same. Please note this change if you need to pick up a child care license application, regulation handbook, drop off forms or have questions you need answered in person.
