Making An Appointment
For your safety and ours, ALL waste dropoffs are by APPOINTMENT ONLY! Please read this page for important details about dropping off your materials.
Business and non-household customers must apply for participation in the program before bringing materials. Please visit the Non-Household and Business Waste Program.
Household customers may schedule a dropoff appointment on-line here or by calling 913-715-6900. Mobile pickup is available to homebound residents only.
To schedule an appointment for household hazardous materials: click here or call 913-715-6900 and wait for an operator. Please do not use the contact form.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The online Appointment Scheduler does NOT automatically schedule a time for you. You choose the date and time from a list of available options. If you have not chosen a date and time then you have not completed the process.
After you have made an appointment, we will provide you with directions to the hazardous materials facility. If you make your appointment by phone, you are forwarded to a recording. If you make your appointment online, you will receive an email.
The facility is located inside a secured county wastewater treatment plant in Mission and is not accessible without an appointment. Directions will be given to you once you've made an appointment. Directions are not given on this website. Please call 913-715-6900 if you need more explanation. We do not accept waste at our main office location in Olathe.
As an alternative, the City of Olathe operates a free collection program for all Johnson County residents. Appointments are required, except for the second Saturday. No ewaste is accepted on the second Saturday. Visit City of Olathe for more information.
